“Blessing of Fleet” event to take place in St. Augustine

The Blessing of the Fleet event will take place on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Lone Sailor Statue on the southbank of the St. Johns River. Boaters are asked to arrive at 1:30 p.m. and tune to VHF channel 16 & 72. The event is presented by The Jacksonville Sail and Power Squadron. Attempted Child Abduction in St. Augustine Under Police Investigation

Police in St. Augustine, Florida are investigating an attempted child abduction that occurred near Nesbit and Smith Streets. The incident happened on Thursday evening when a man, described as tall and skinny, dressed in all black and wearing a black ski mask and backpack, grabbed a girl’s arm while she was walking.
