A child caused panic at the St. Augustine Beach Pier when they flashed an Airsoft gun, which was mistaken for a real gun by others, causing chaos and people running towards one another. Witnesses reported hearing screams and seeing kids fall as they fled. The incident left many on edge, with some families hiding, even after learning the gun wasn’t real. Locklan Hewlett, a rising junior and quarterback for St. Augustine High School, has declared his commitment to Wake Forest University for college football. He completed 131 throws for over 2 thousand yards in the 2022 season, with a 58 percent success rate, and gained 23 touchdowns. Hewlett is categorized as a three-star athlete and one of the top 40 prospective quarterbacks for the 2025 class.
