SJSO: At 6:16pm SJSO deputies were dispatched to the area of North Volusia Street and West King Street in reference to a hit and run incident involving a 6 year old child who was struck by a vehicle. The child was rushed to the hospital, and tragically was pronounced deceased. The SJSO Traffic Unit has initiated a Traffic Homicide Investigation. The suspect vehicle has not been located at this time, no description is available. This is an active investigation, further updates will be provided as applicable.
