The St. Augustine Book Festival will be held at the Ximenez Fatio House Museum on the first three Saturdays of September 2023. Literary tours of the Ximenez-Fatio House, depicting Constance Fenimore Woolson, a 19th-century author of the Ancient City, will take place at 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on September 2, September 9, and September 16. Up to 15 guests can reserve tickets for each tour, which can be booked online. Adult tickets are priced at $15, children aged 6-18 can attend for $8, and seniors, military personnel, and teachers can purchase tickets for $12. Tickets will be available on the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum website.
The Book Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on September 2, September 9, and September 16. This event will feature book signings, author meet and greets, vendors, the St. Johns County Book Mobile, and displays from St. Augustine attractions such as Fort Mose, the St. Augustine True Crime Book Club, and The Menorcan Experience.
A variety of authors will be present at the festival to give presentations and participate in Q&A sessions. The featured authors include Randy Cribbs, known for his books about ghosts and mysteries in St. Augustine; Dr. Darian Andreu, a Flagler College Professor specializing in English and Menorcan History & Literature; Marla Magellan, author of non-fiction children’s books on nature; Marisa Carbone, author of a historic fiction children’s book titled “Paintbrushes & Arrows: A Story of Two Girls in St. Augustine in 1875” which focuses on Native Americans imprisoned at Fort Marion; Gigi Richardson, an author and genealogy expert; and Matthew Frick, the Curator of the St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum, who has authored “The True Story of Thomas Tew.”
Various vendors will also be present at the festival, including authors like Randy Cribbs, Marla Magellan, Marisa Carbone, Matt Fritt, Darian Andreu, Ryan Saxon, Tina Verduzco, Doug Dillon, and Marisella Veiga. Additionally, organizations such as the African Diaspora Literature & Culture Museum, the St. Augustine True Crime Book Club, the St. Johns County Public Library Book Mobile, Fort Mose, the Menorcan Experience, the St. Augustine Art Association, and the Ximenez Fatio House Fig Tree Gift Shop will also be in attendance.
