Spring Shuttle Service Schedule for St. Augustine Unveiled

The City of St. Augustine is offering free park and ride shuttle service every Saturday from March 11 to April 8 for their festival season. The shuttle services are available from three parking locations outside of the downtown area, with the drop-off/pick-up location being the Visitor Information Center. The notable times for the park and ride shuttle service are April 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and April 8 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. for the Easter Parade. Gun Possession Conviction for Man Cleared in Fatal St. Augustine Shooting

Luis Casado has been sentenced to 60 days in jail for carrying a firearm into a prohibited place after the manslaughter charge against him was dismissed in 2022. The charge was dropped after Circuit Judge R. Lee Smith ruled that Casado acted in self-defense under Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law. The shooting occurred in May 2021 outside a bar in downtown St. Augustine, and Adam Amoia was killed. Amoia’s family and friends attended the hearing to provide impact statements, and his mother begged the judge to sentence Casado to the full extent. A contract postal carrier in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, named Kori Ann Moreno has pleaded guilty to stealing mail containing cash or gift cards and throwing away the cards. The theft was reported by multiple complaints in July 2022, and Moreno was caught by USPS-OIG agents opening a greeting card containing $40.
