SJSO: At 6:16pm SJSO deputies were dispatched to the area of North Volusia Street and West King Street in reference to a hit and run incident involving a 6 year old child who was struck by a vehicle. The child was rushed to the hospital, and tragically was pronounced deceased. The SJSO Traffic Unit has initiated a Traffic Homicide Investigation. The suspect vehicle has not been located at this time, no description is available. This is an active investigation, further updates will be provided as applicable.

Increase in construction site burglaries leads to arrest of man and woman in St. Johns County
An investigation into a series of construction site burglaries in St. Johns County has resulted in the arrest of a man and a woman. The burglaries primarily targeted homes under construction in the county’s northwest area, with thieves stealing copper wire and tubing. Detectives initiated the investigation after receiving multiple reports of these incidents. They identified several suspect vehicles and eventually focused on a potential suspect. Police investigating possible overdose death on Holmes Blvd
Medical Examiners, Forensics, and SJSO detectives on the scene of what they believe to be an overdose death near the junkyard in Homes Blvd. Police have said there is no threat to anyone in surrounding neighborhoods.
