An albino alligator named Mr. Bones residing in the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park has been experiencing dental issues due to a chronic jaw malformation. Dr. Bridget Walker from the University of Florida’s Zoological Medicine program performed a procedure on Mr. Bones to pull out three of his front teeth and relieve the pressure on his jaw, allowing him to eat larger prey. Mr. Bones received mild sedation, a nerve block, and pain medication to keep him comfortable during and post-procedure. He can now resume his regular eating habits.
