The St. Johns County School Board in Florida has unanimously approved attendance zone changes for two new schools set to open next fall. The first school, known as “NN,” is a K-8 school in the Shearwater area, which will accommodate over 1,000 students from eight neighborhoods. The second school, “OO,” is located in the Beacon Lakes area and will serve nearly 1,200 students from six neighborhoods. School Bus Drivers, Other St. Johns County Support Staff to Receive Pay Increase
The St. Johns County School District has agreed to increase pay for school bus drivers, custodians, teacher aides, and other support staff. The collective bargaining agreement, approved by the school board, amounts to a $1.2 million compensation package. This means a minimum pay increase of $450 for staff with 13 years of experience or less, and about $500 more for those with 14 years of experience. Sexual Predator Arrested Once More in St. Johns County
Registered sexual predator, Robert Keith Boswell, was arrested in St. Johns County, Florida, after an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old boy was contacted by him. The conversation, which was extremely graphic, involved the exchange of explicit images and a willingness to meet for sex. Boswell, who was previously convicted of sexual battery against a minor under 12 in 1997, was charged with solicitation of a minor for sex, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, and transmission of harmful material to a minor.
