St. Johns County Educators and Parents Rally for Higher Teacher Salaries
Teachers and parents in St. Johns County, Florida rallied for better pay at a school board meeting, wearing “Red for Ed” clothing. Despite a pay boost last year, teachers say their salaries remain too low and inadequate for the high cost of living in the area. Teachers also reported feeling unsupported and concerned for their safety in the classroom. Negotiations between the St. Johns Education Association and the school district will take place tomorrow.
