Fatal accident on A1A in St. Johns County results in two casualties.

Two men from Jacksonville were killed in a head-on collision on Ponte Vedra Boulevard (A1A) after their car crossed a double yellow line and crashed into a pick-up truck. The 57-year-old truck driver suffered minor injuries, while the 28-year-old female SUV driver sustained serious injuries. Both the driver and passenger in the car passed away at the accident site. Appeal Made for Safer Bicycling and Walking in St. Johns County

The St. Johns County Fire-Rescue Department in Florida is reminding residents to be more aware while driving after a high number of vehicle-pedestrian crashes were reported in March. Pedestrians and bicyclists are urged to use crosswalks, cross corners, and obey pedestrian signals, while drivers are reminded to look out for pedestrians and bicyclists, especially when turning.
