Two locals hailed for heroic deeds after saving lives in multiple car collision

Two men, Gabriel Caez and Kyle Atwater, recently received a certificate of commendation from St. Johns County Fire Rescue Chief Scott Bullard for their heroic actions in rescuing people involved in a multi-vehicle accident on International Golf Parkway. The incident happened on April 21 when both men found the accident and didn’t hesitate to help. They quickly assisted in rescuing people trapped in the overturned vehicle and helped save precious time for medical care. OVERBOARD? Commissioner proposes banning floating structures in the inlet

The St. Johns County Commissioners discussed an ordinance on Tuesday that would ban floating structures after several residents complained about a floating structure in the Matanzas Inlet owned by Hurricane Watersports. The owner, Jeffrey Thomas, rents out water trampolines, platforms, kayaks, and paddle boards, but county commissioner Henry Dean said that resident complaints referred to it as an eyesore, and said parties on the structure are disrupting people’s enjoyment of the inlet. St. Augustine’s Liquors to be Highlighted at Disney Springs Event “Flavors of Florida”

Local liquors from St. Augustine will be featured in a culinary event called “Flavors of Florida” at Disney Springs starting from July 1 through August 13. Two local liquor brands – Florida cane vodka and St. Augustine gin – will be used in cocktails served at various locations within Disney Springs.
