26-year-old woman facing DUI manslaughter trial arrested for resisting arrest in Clay County

A Jacksonville woman, Kelsey Herrin, was arrested for DUI manslaughter following a fatal crash in St. Johns County earlier this year. Herrin, who was driving a Dodge Ram truck, crashed into two cars, resulting in the death of a Ford Focus driver. During the investigation, deputies noted Herrin’s slurred speech and alcohol smell. She admitted to consuming three or four drinks, including mimosas. A blood test showed a .198 BAC and the presence of active cocaine. After being released on pretrial for the DUI case, Herrin was rearrested for violating release conditions following an incident in Clay County where she was accused of resisting arrest without violence. Her bond was revoked and she was returned to jail. Herrin is due in court on Nov. 29 to face the DUI manslaughter charge.
