The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office in Florida has issued a warning about a scam after a resident was tricked into giving thousands of dollars to a man claiming to be a defense attorney. The victim was contacted by a stranger who claimed her daughter was in jail and needed $5,000 for bail. The St. Johns County School Board in Florida has unanimously approved attendance zone changes for two new schools set to open next fall. The first school, known as “NN,” is a K-8 school in the Shearwater area, which will accommodate over 1,000 students from eight neighborhoods.
