David Armstrong, 37, has been arrested by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office for murdering his wife, Kimberly Armstrong, in December. David Armstrong had called 911 claiming that an unknown male had dropped his nude wife in their yard and threatened him with a gun. An autopsy revealed that Kimberly Armstrong died of blunt trauma to the head, neck, torso, and extremities, and all evidence obtained refuted David Armstrong’s statements, demonstrating that he killed his wife. FWC Officer Accused of Possessing Child Pornography in St. Johns County
A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer, William Lee Lawshe, has been charged with three counts of child porn possession in St. Johns County after a cyber-tip was received by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Lawshe confirmed that the phone from the tip was his and that it was in his control when the abuse material was uploaded. Baptist & Wolfson to Build Emergency Room & Imaging Center in St. Augustine
Baptist Health is building a new emergency room and imaging center on the site of the former St. Augustine Outlet Mall in Florida. The facility will offer separate emergency services for adults and children and will be the only state-designated pediatric trauma center in Northeast Florida. The center will also provide X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans, mammography, and bone density screenings. The project, which is being built on 8.5 acres, will cost $28.5 million and is expected to open in the spring of 2024. The hospital has also bought additional land for expansion.
