Man taken into custody after SWAT teams rush home

SWAT teams rushed the home of a man that neighbors say was acting erratic, smashing out car windows in neighboring driveways. This happened in Ashby Landing just behind epic theaters. The man was believed to be well armed and not responding to police calls for communication. Just around 1am, police entered the home and confirmed they had their suspect in custody, although could not confirm his physical state at the time. Rescue crews were on scene, and we can confirm that a stretcher was deployed. We will release any information as it becomes available.

Two arrested after child found injured and in lying in own feces and urine

CHILD NEGLECT ARREST: The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Usina Road Ext. in reference to assisting Fire Rescue with an injured child. It is alleged that the victim fell sometime last month and sustained injuries which resulted in the victim being bedridden. The victim was found in their bed with their feces and urine surrounding them.Based on the condition of the victim and the residence, SJSO’s Special Victims and Forensics Units were requested to respond.
