St. Augustine Man Convicted of Child Sexual Abuse After One-Day Trial

Jasper Oliver was found guilty by a St. Johns County jury on multiple counts of child sexual abuse following a one-day trial. The charges include two counts each of Sexual Battery on a Minor 12 to 18 by Person in Familial or Custodial Authority, Unlawful Sexual Activity with a Minor, and Soliciting a Child for Unlawful Sexual Conduct using Computer Services or Devices, as well as Transmission of Material Harmful to Minors by Electronic Device and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device. Child Struck And Killed In Hit And Run Monday Night

SJSO: At 6:16pm SJSO deputies were dispatched to the area of North Volusia Street and West King Street in reference to a hit and run incident involving a 6 year old child who was struck by a vehicle. The child was rushed to the hospital, and tragically was pronounced deceased. The SJSO Traffic Unit has initiated a Traffic Homicide Investigation. The suspect vehicle has not been located at this time, no description is available. This is an active investigation, further updates will be provided as applicable.
