A traffic stop for speeding on I-95 northbound near State Road 207 in Elkton, Florida, led to the discovery of drugs and firearms by a St. Johns County deputy and a U.S. Border Patrol Agent. The driver, Cleon Miller, 31, of Ft. Lauderdale, was already wanted by authorities in Broward County. A K-9 unit detected drugs in the vehicle, leading to a search that revealed a loaded Draco AK-47 pistol, a Glock 43 pistol, and a stolen Sig Sauer pistol. The trunk contained 26 pounds of crystal meth and two kilos of fentanyl, enough to potentially kill a million people.…

St. Johns County to Host Two Public Meetings for Input on Future of World Golf Village, IMAX
St. Johns County is inviting public input on the future of World Golf Village properties, including the IMAX theater, at two meetings on September 27th and 28th. The meetings will take place at the St. Johns County Public Administration Building Auditorium. The properties include the 64,113 square-foot World Golf Hall of Fame, the 17,865 square-foot IMAX Theater, the 32,329 square-foot PGA Tour Productions office building, and the 36.07-acre S. Legacy Trail. The World Golf Foundation plans to discontinue Hall of Fame operations by the end of 2023 and relocate from the PGA Tour Productions building by the end of 2024.…

The St. Augustine community will gather at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! on November 4, 2023, for the 2023 Walk to Defeat ALS St. Augustine. The event aims to support and fund a cure for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a progressive motor neuron disease with no known cause or cure. Participants, including ALS patients, their families, friends, and supporters, will walk 1.5 miles to raise funds and awareness. On September 7, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office in Florida responded to a theft at a local Ulta Beauty Store, where approximately $4,000 worth of merchandise was stolen. The suspect, identified as Tatiyana McMillian, reportedly stole various items and left without paying. The Sheriff’s Office discovered McMillian was attempting to sell the stolen goods on social media.
