A former high school teacher in St. Johns County was arrested on several charges, including three counts of transmitting harmful content to minors and one count of illegal use of a two-way communications device. The charges stem from alleged inappropriate behavior with a 13-year-old student last December, which included exchanging Snapchat messages, offering to buy vapes, and sending inappropriate photos. The incident report also states that the teacher gave vapes to several students to smoke during school hours and invited them to his residence. St. Johns County to Provide Financial Assistance for Autism Certification
St. Johns County launched a grant program for hospitality businesses to become a Certified Autism Center. This will help make the area an inclusive community for neurodiverse individuals and attract more diverse visitors. Businesses will be featured on AutismTravel.com and must meet certain requirements to be eligible for the grant.
