Former St. Johns County Teacher Faces Charges of Transmitting Harmful Content to Minors

A former high school teacher in St. Johns County was arrested on several charges, including three counts of transmitting harmful content to minors and one count of illegal use of a two-way communications device. The charges stem from alleged inappropriate behavior with a 13-year-old student last December, which included exchanging Snapchat messages, offering to buy vapes, and sending inappropriate photos. The incident report also states that the teacher gave vapes to several students to smoke during school hours and invited them to his residence. The teacher was placed on administrative leave in January and will not be re-appointed for employment. He posted bail and is due in court on May 31.
