St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office in Florida has arrested 56-year-old Michael Christopher Patchen on multiple charges related to child exploitation. Patchen was caught by Crimes Against Children detectives after engaging in sexually explicit conversations with an undercover detective posing as a child, and attempting to meet the ‘child’ for sex. He was charged with attempted lewd/lascivious battery, traveling to meet a minor for sex, solicitation of a minor for sex, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. Fire Devastates Part of Atlantic Beach & Tennis Club in St. Augustine Beach
A massive fire has destroyed part of the Atlantic Beach and Tennis Club in St. Augustine Beach, Florida. The club, owned by Bill Brothers for over three decades, offers tennis courts, pools, workout spaces, and a family environment to its members. The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m., with large flames and smoke visible upon the arrival of the St. Johns County Fire Rescue. The firefighters used multiple water supplies to extinguish the fire. A 26-year-old motorcyclist from Jacksonville died in a crash on A1A and Harbor Drive in St. Johns County, Florida, on Sunday night. The accident occurred when the motorcyclist crossed the double yellow center lines to pass a car and collided with the sedan’s front left side as it turned left onto Harbor Drive. The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown off his bike. The 30-year-old Palm Coast man driving the sedan was unharmed and was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. St. Johns County Teams Up with SJC Cultural Events, Inc. to Manage St. Augustine Amphitheatre
The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) unanimously approved a public-private partnership with SJC Cultural Events, Inc. (SJCCE) on September 19, 2023. Starting October 1, SJCCE will manage and operate the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, while the County retains ownership and leasehold interests. SJCCE, a nonprofit organization, will handle event management, promotion, facility expense oversight, and maintenance.
