The St. Johns County School Board is planning to convert the historic Hastings library into a technical college. The project is estimated to cost $20 million and may be funded by a mix of district funding, a $10 million grant, and money from the American Rescue Plan. The building, which is almost 100 years old, will be renovated instead of being torn down. Architects are currently assessing the building, and a more detailed plan is expected to be released later this year.
