A nor’easter is causing strong winds, heavy rain, and flooding in Northeast Florida, leading to several ramp closures at St. Johns County beaches. A rip current warning is also in effect for most beaches. The storm is expected to continue throughout the day, with wind gusts reaching 30-45 mph at the coast and 20-30 mph inland. Locally heavy rains are expected, with rain totals of 1-3 inches in many spots east of I-95. Coastal flooding is possible with the mid-day and tonight’s high tide cycle, and beach erosion remains likely around high tide due to high surf.
