Ponte Vedra Man to Repay Over $1.9M to IRS for Tax Evasion

Patrick Brian Hines, a man from Ponte Vedra, Florida, has been sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison and ordered to pay $1,927,077.90 in restitution to the Internal Revenue Service for willful tax evasion. Hines used multiple nominee owners for a company he established in his wife’s name to evade and defeat the payment of income taxes and other obligations. He also used the company to hide his personal assets and income, and paid personal expenses from the company’s business accounts. Hines’ attempts to conceal assets and income to evade taxes were unsuccessful and resulted in significant consequences.
