Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Society’s 34th Annual Conference Set for St. Augustine in Late April

The Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Society’s 34th Annual Conference will occur in St. Augustine on April 28-30, 2023, as announced by the St. Johns Cultural Council. The weekend will feature several programs about the Pulitzer Prize-winning author, including tours, lectures, and discussions. Visitors will also enjoy a wine and cheese reception, a banquet, a scenic river cruise of the Matanzas River, and a chance to watch a performance of the never-before-produced short play Color Struck, written by Rawlings’ friend and fellow writer Zora Neale Hurston. Rawlings had a second home in Crescent Beach, and she and her husband owned the Castle Warden Hotel in St. Augustine.
