Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Conference Set for St. Augustine Venue

The Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Society is holding its annual conference in St. Augustine from April 28-30. Rawlings was a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, and the conference features programs about Rawlings’ contemporaries, lectures, and discussions. The event will include a wine-and-cheese reception, a banquet, a scenic river cruise, and a never-before produced short play by Rawlings’ friend and fellow author Zora Neale Hurston. Rawlings owned a second home in Crescent Beach, Florida and she, along with her husband Norton Sanford Baskin, owned a hotel in St. Augustine.
