St. Johns County recently issued a permit on June 5th for the construction of a Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux at 495 Durbin Pavilion Drive in Saint Johns. The estimated cost of construction for the nearly 7,500-square-foot restaurant is $2.1 million. The new establishment will be located in front of the Cinemark Durbin Park & XD theater within The Pavilion at Durbin Park.
Arkel Constructors Inc., based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has been contracted to handle the construction work. Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux is a chain of restaurants that originated in Baton Rouge and is co-owned by former NFL quarterback Drew Brees.
A property site plan reveals that Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux will occupy the space in front of the Cinemark Durbin Park & XD theater at the Pavilion. The Pavilion itself is situated at the intersection of Florida 9B and West Peyton Parkway, near Interstate 95 in northwest St. Johns County.
The leasing agents for the Durbin Park landlord are Stephanie McCullough, a partner at The Shopping Center Group, and Kelly Pulignano, a Senior Vice President at the same company.
Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux was first established on September 9, 2003, near Louisiana State University’s Tiger Stadium. Since then, it has expanded through franchising and now boasts nearly 80 restaurants across 15 states. There are currently eight Walk-On’s locations in Florida, with the closest ones located in Orlando and Tallahassee.
Describing itself as a place where “over-the-top enthusiasm and culture is the daily norm,” Walk-On’s offers a diverse menu that includes starters, classics, salads, burgers, seafood, sandwiches, po’boys, wraps, tacos, sides, desserts, and specialties. Additionally, a bar drink menu is available for patrons to enjoy.
