Tragic ATV Crash Claims Lives of Two St. Augustine Men in Putnam County

Two people died in a two-vehicle accident involving a pickup truck and an ATV on County Road 309 in Putnam County, Florida, late Saturday night. The incident occurred when the pickup truck missed a right turn and was hit from behind by the ATV, which couldn’t stop in time. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office in Florida has issued a warning about a scam after a resident was tricked into giving thousands of dollars to a man claiming to be a defense attorney. The victim was contacted by a stranger who claimed her daughter was in jail and needed $5,000 for bail. The scammer, posing as a defense attorney named Matt Arnold, collected the money from the victim at her home.
