A new joint facility for the St. Johns County Fire Rescue and Sheriff’s Office Southwest Operations Center had its groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, which is expected to be completed in Summer 2024. The project was approved by the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners and has a budget of $10 million. The joint facility aims to provide faster emergency services and better convenience for the residents and visitors of the county. The fire station will house a Rescue, an Engine, a Tower, and a Battalion Chief.
