A woman from St. Johns County, Florida, claims she has overpaid hundreds of dollars in sales tax on Amazon orders due to the company charging her the higher Duval County rate. Marianne Hatcher, who lives in the unincorporated Julington Creek area, discovered the discrepancy after noticing her orders cost less when shipped to her daughter in Orlando. A Jacksonville woman, Kelsey Herrin, was arrested for DUI manslaughter following a fatal crash in St. Johns County earlier this year. Herrin, who was driving a Dodge Ram truck, crashed into two cars, resulting in the death of a Ford Focus driver. During the investigation, deputies noted Herrin’s slurred speech and alcohol smell. She admitted to consuming three or four drinks, including mimosas. A blood test showed a .198 BAC and the presence of active cocaine.
