Arrest Made in St. Augustine Homicide Investigation After Five-Month Probe

David Alan Armstrong, 36, has been arrested on murder charges related to an incident that occurred in December of 2022 in St. Augustine, Florida. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit Detectives responded to a 911 call from Armstrong, who advised a female at the residence was unresponsive. Responding deputies discovered the victim deceased and requested MCU response. After a several month investigation, detectives developed probable cause to charge Armstrong with murder. Person Rescued from St. Augustine Beach, Hospitalized

One person was rescued by St. Johns County Fire Rescue after being in distress in the water near the A Street beach access point in St. Augustine Beach, Florida. The other person was able to swim back to shore. The rescued swimmer was taken to Flagler Hospital and their condition is unknown. Witnesses reported that a man and a woman visiting from Michigan for spring break were involved in the incident, and it was emotional and traumatizing for onlookers. St. Johns County agency proposes plan for 700+ age-restricted homes development

Pulte Home Company LLC plans to build The Landings at St. Johns, a development of 761 homes for active adults aged 55 or older, alongside another proposed development called The Landings at Greenbriar. The project would involve nearly 581 acres of land and $11.5 million in road and infrastructure improvements. The development plan would not take up any resources from the school district, but some residents are concerned about the negative impact on wetlands, noise, and traffic.
