Last month, a tragic incident occurred where an 11-month-old baby drowned in a bathtub being bathed by their mother along with their 3-year-old sibling. The mother was tending to the older child when the baby made her way back into the bathtub. The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) reported that there had been a previous DCF investigation at the home within the last year, triggering a review by a DCF Critical Incident Rapid Response team. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an active investigation, and no report is yet available.
