Three Individuals Charged in Relation to Downtown Jacksonville Homicide, Including 19-Year-Old from St. Johns County

Three individuals, including a 19-year-old from Fruit Cove, have been arrested in connection with a murder that took place in downtown Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that a man was found dead on West Ashley Street and Ryan Nichols has been accused of second-degree murder. Two others, Daniel DeGuardia and Holden Dodson, both from St. Johns County, face charges of accessory after the fact. The police investigation, which involved the assistance of the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office and SWAT Team, led to the discovery of the suspects and the vehicle used in the crime. A towed gray Jeep Grand Cherokee is reported to have been seen during the police search of DeGuardia’s home but it is uncertain if it is the same vehicle used in the murder.
